Your morning opens with a hotel pickup and an easy drive to the Giza Plateau, where the Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure rise straight out of the desert, impossibly vast up close. You'll stand before the Great Sphinx — its weathered face still gazing east after 4,500 years — while your Egyptologist unravels the hieroglyphs, the myths and the engineering that still baffles modern minds.
Then you travel further back in time to Saqqara, where the Step Pyramid of Djoser broke new ground as the world's first monument built entirely of stone.
