From Safaga: Dolphin Watching Cruise with Lunch & Drinks
A laid-back sail from a working harbour town to open water where the dolphins run.
Overview
Your morning opens with a relaxed pickup from your Safaga hotel and a short air-conditioned drive down to the harbour. Safaga is a low-key working port rather than a resort strip, so the day has an unhurried, local feel from the moment you step aboard and the crew eases the boat out into a broad, calm bay.
As the coast slips away, the skipper sets a course for Dolphin House, an open patch of the Red Sea where wild spinner dolphins often gather to ride the bow wave and turn through the swell. The crew keeps a respectful distance, and when the pod seems calm and curious you can lower yourself gently into the water for a rare, quiet encounter on their terms.
The rest of the day drifts by across two coral reef stops, where a mask and fins reveal the Red Sea in full colour โ shoals of parrotfish, flashes of angelfish and the occasional turtle gliding beneath the hull. In between, you stretch out on deck for a generous buffet lunch, with cold drinks kept coming and nothing on the agenda but sun and salt water.
The boat carries everything you need โ snorkelling gear, shaded seating and a crew who look after confident swimmers and nervous first-timers with equal care. Non-swimmers are welcome to enjoy it all from the deck, life jackets are on hand, and with free cancellation and reserve-now-pay-later, the only thing to pack is a towel before your afternoon ride back to Safaga.
