Hurghada: 3-Day Orange Island, Grand Safari & Dolphin House Package
Three excursions, three days, one price. Snorkel at Orange Island, ride a quad into the Sahara and cruise to the Dolphin House reef. Two lunches, a Bedouin dinner and all park fees included.
Overview
Somewhere around the third day, the hotel beach starts to repeat itself. This package is the answer to that โ three mornings, three pickups, and three versions of Egypt that have almost nothing in common except the coastline they share.
On the island day you go over the side into water so clear the boat's shadow sits on the seabed six metres below. The reef at Giftun does the thing reefs do to time: you plan on ten minutes and surface forty later, sunburnt across the shoulders, with no idea where the morning went. Then lunch on deck, the sandbar at Orange Island, and nothing on the schedule but the walk back to the water.
The desert day is what makes the trip make sense. You take the quad out past the last hotel and the coast simply stops โ no reef, no colour, no sound but the engine, and then, when the guide cuts it, not even that. Egypt is a country most people meet as a strip of beach a few kilometres wide. Standing in the Sahara at dusk with tea going cold in your hand is when you understand that the beach was the exception, and this is the rule.
By the last morning you know the drill: bag packed, guide's name learned, the boat already familiar. Sha'ab El Erg is the one you'll talk about โ a horseshoe reef with a shallow lagoon where wild spinner dolphins come to rest, and where seeing them is their decision, not the schedule's. Either way you go home able to say something most visitors can't: that you saw the reef, the desert and the open sea, and that you know which one you'd come back for.
