The start of your journey will be visiting Sakkara, which is located 27 kilometers away from Cairo. The vast necropolis is home to eleven pyramids in total - the burial places of the Old Kingdom Pharaohs - amongst which several are magnificent examples of ancient art and architecture.
The Step Pyramid, created for King Zoser, is the most significant part of this section.
Next step to the Giza Plateau to see the oldest of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World. Get breathtaking views of the Pyramids of Giza as you explore the Khufu (and sometimes called Cheops, or the Great Pyramid), Khafre and Menkaure.
