Soma Bay Hammam and Full Spa Program with Massage
Book a Hurghada hammam from Soma Bay and the hour on the coast road comes with it, both ways. Five programs are on offer, from the plain Turkish bath at two hours to the chocolate and double-hammam rituals at two and a half, every one built on warm steam and a natural-glove scrub, with sauna, herbal steam room and jacuzzi alongside, and a full-body massage at the end.
Overview
Soma Bay is a peninsula built around things you do with your body. Eighteen holes into the wind, a morning harnessed to a kite, an afternoon down on the house reef, and by about the fourth day the shoulders and the lower back begin sending invoices. Soul Spa Wellness Club sits inside the TK Royal in the InterContinental district of Hurghada, just under an hour up the coast road, and the driving is folded into the booking: a driver takes you from your hotel and delivers you back. Every program on this page begins the same way, with heat.
You sit in the hammam and let warm steam work through you until the muscles stop arguing. Then comes the glove: a full body scrub, brisk and unhurried and faintly startling at first, and a rinse that leaves you several layers lighter than you arrived. The dry sauna, the herbal steam room and the jacuzzi are open to you between treatments, in whatever order you like. And every program finishes the same way, in a quiet room, with a full-body massage.
The difference between the five programs comes down mostly to what is worked into the skin and how long you stay. The Turkish hammam is the plain original, milk mask and foam, roughly two hours. Cleopatra puts coconut soap where the milk was and adds a face mask; the Moroccan uses coffee soap and a coffee scrub, which smells every bit as good as it sounds. Above them sit two rituals of two and a half hours, split evenly between bathing and massage: the Ramses, which takes you through a second hammam as well as the first, and the Chocolate, whose scrub is cocoa and coconut.
The peninsula keeps you on it, which is part of the appeal and also why leaving for an afternoon takes some deciding. Nothing here is a short walk from anything else, and the coast road north is not a trip you want to improvise at the end of a long day on the water. This booking settles that: one driver, one appointment, one return, and the only planning left is which of the five programs you want.
None of this is new. The hammam is how this part of the world has bathed for centuries, heat first, then the scrub, then the long rest, and the sequence endures because it does what it promises. What a hammam program really offers is not a menu of treatments but a change of gear: two hours or more with nothing booked, the phone out of reach, and a single decision left, which is how much pressure you want.

Good to know
- Child price: ages 12-17 ยท Infants not permitted
- Every program ends in a full-body massage, and the style is decided with your therapist on arrival at no additional cost. Explain what the week has done to you and how firm you want the pressure. Hot stones lies outside that free choice, and can be added to your booking for EUR 5.
- Women are treated by female therapists and men by male therapists, on every program and on every treatment. This is settled policy and requires no request from you.
- Treatment is limited to guests of 12 and above. Anyone under 18 must have an adult with them. Infants and younger children cannot be treated.
- Appointments begin on the hour, at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00 and 18:00. Allow roughly two hours for the shorter programs, from arrival to the last of the tea, and roughly two and a half for the two longest, with just under an hour of driving in each direction on top of that. The final slot, 18:00, returns you to Soma Bay by around half past nine.
- Swimwear is needed for the hammam, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Robe, slippers, towels and toiletries are all supplied.
- Eat lightly rather than sitting down to a proper meal, and come hydrated. A big lunch followed by a hot steam room is not a happy pairing.
- Let us know as you book if you are pregnant, have any allergy, are nursing an injury or have a medical condition, so the therapist can modify the treatment or talk it through with you first.
- Soul Spa Wellness Club is inside the TK Royal in the InterContinental district of Hurghada, just under an hour north of Soma Bay by the coast road. Return transfers from anywhere on the Soma Bay peninsula are part of the price; you are collected at your lobby and brought back to it.
- Reserve now and pay later. Cancellation is free of charge, and the booking costs nothing until the day itself.
